"I want to pass along my appreciation for you finding our APEX manufacturing specialist. As you know we were looking for a candidate where his skillset was more of “I’ll know it when I see it” than a concrete list of attributes. We then tied your hands behind your back with the requirement to find someone who is currently in the US and not affiliated with the proposing organization even though the proposing organization is the only US group to do this kind of manufacturing. Despite the challenges, you brought us an excellent candidate. This week, the NASA Acquisition Manager pointed out how important this position is to the review and how impressed they were that "WE" found someone with this expertise who could be a non-conflicted evaluator. This NASA Acquisition Manager doesn’t often give compliments, but he said he was impressed that "WE" were able to find someone.
As the person who would have had to tap-dance around the lack of qualifications if we would have been forced to propose someone less qualified, thank you for all of your efforts.
